Hi friends! My name is Sean Coyle, I’m so excited and blessed to be joining the St. Augustine’s University Parish campus ministry team. I’m a singer, a reader, a thinker, a nerd, and quite frequently a goofball, but most importantly, I’m a child of the Father who is passionate about expanding His family and letting everyone I encounter know that they are seen, known, and loved.
I grew up in a devout Catholic family, so the faith has always had an important role in my life; however, that faith shifted in high school from being just about things I knew were right and things I had to do, to being a lifeline in times when I couldn’t make sense of the world, to being first and foremost about Jesus Christ and what a relationship with Him looks like. By encountering Him in a unique Adoration experience at a high school retreat, I came to understand that I was seen, known, and loved by Christ, by my Creator and my Redeemer. While discerning my vocation and seeking to know and love and serve God more, I spent my time at Franciscan University studying theology and philosophy.
Thanks to prayer and the people God placed in my life, such as FOCUS missionaries, professors, family, and dear friends whom I consider brothers and sisters, I came to see my unique single life as an opportunity to radically serve the Lord in the hearts of college students, knowing how formative those years were in my own life. Having served a year as a campus missionary at Northern Illinois University, I’m so blessed to continue this work now at UW-Platteville, to continue to be humbled by my own littleness and the greatness of God as I walk with others on their own life-journeys, and hopefully to help guide them closer to Christ and His Church. I hope, above all, to ensure that anyone who I meet knows that they are so loved by God that He sent His own son to die and rise so that we might spend eternity with Him.
